Many people think dessert is a piece of cake, dressed with sauce. But my friend Sarah does not think so. She is a confectioner, and she participates in various competitions. She said the dessert is much harder. Dessert is very good when it includes 5 ingredients at least. This is a gateau with an unusual taste, a mousse (it is served chilled and very tender consistency), this can be jelly (but not the rubber and it should be combined with mousse). Sauce (or several kinds of sauces) and the decor should be very thin and delicate (it may be chocolate, caramel, etc.). Put necessarily fresh berries or nuts in dessert; you can put the ball cold ice cream or sorbet also. When a person tastes sweet dessert, tastes, texture, consistency, temperature (hot, cold) should be mixed in the mouth. And all this must be on one footed plate and only in small sizes. The total weight of all the products must not exceeding 100 gr. Once I came to visit Sarah to taste desserts for the next competition and I was surprised by the beauty of the festive table. I was wondered not only by dishes, but wonderful shapes of sweet, laid out in a beautiful footed cake plate. It was a real piece of art! A piece of gateau with chocolate layer was surrounded by pieces of kiwi and banana. Two very small painted footed plates with different sauces were nearby. It looked elegant and tasty exceptionally. I wanted immediately to eat this dessert. I could not wait, when we were invited to the table. Finally, Sarah said the tea was ready, and we could sit at the table. My hands wanted to take this dessert, and I took finally a spoon and put a piece into my mouth. I will never forget this taste. Later, I tried to make this dessert on my own kitchen, but still it was not quite right. Probably a lot of experience and quality ware play a big role in any type of food. True, Sarah helped me advice, and once I have received almost the same cake, just as she cooked. I even bought the special footed plates to make my desserts like in a restaurant. I think you have to be an artist to make sweet desserts. But every woman should know the ware play an important role in decorating a table. Any dish will look much prettier and tastier in the nice dish. | |
